Our Mission

The Friends of Montclair RR Trail is a  volunteer, non-profit organization. We strive to maintain, preserve and enhance
the wild and natural character of the "Montclair RR Trail", a City of Oakland Linear Park.

We provide an extra pair of eyes and additional hands when needed, augmenting Oakland's Parks and Recreation resources to keep the Montclair Railroad Trail clean, safe and natural for all who use it.

                                                    Current Activities Include:
  • Advocate solutions for improvements with the City of Oakland: Public Works, Parks and Recreation, City Council
  • Monthly Trail Work Days to clean and maintain the trail.
  • Naturalization of the trail through eradication of invasive species and plantings of native plants.
  • Educational programs: trail history, invasive plant identification, listing of native and non-invasive plants for homeowners.
  • Monitor trail safety in partnership with the City of Oakland Police Department and local Neighborhood Alert groups.
  • Join other supporters of the Montclair RR Trail today!
